About

Born upon the shore of a sea swelled shanty town, Dana Smith was destined for greatness, destined for fame, destined to write for the masses.

Or something like that.

Dana Smith was actually born and raised in Baltimore, MD. She survived childhood in tact, then spent most of her adolescence thinking, "what doesn't kill me only makes me more awkward and harder to relate to." Needless to say, her teens and twenties supplied plenty of fodder for a life's work in writing. Now she’s in her thirties. Yikes.

After college and slumming through boring jobs for a few years, Dana found her true calling in writing, specifically (yet, not limited to) creative copywriting. Short sentences, long sentences, blog posts, and Tweets, she does them all. Specializing in brand storytelling and tech startups, Dana is really good at SEO, product, and CRM. Translating tech speak to human speak is an oft misunderstood passion.

Currently residing in New York City, Dana is an award winning comedy writer and has written, produced, performed, and directed sketch and improv shows at the famed Second City and iO Theaters in Chicago. She writes for work, writes for love (love of nachos, to be specific), and writes for laughs. Or tries, anyway.
